Danish brickies to enter the MMO world.

lego_logo.pngLEGO has today announced that it is to enter the bustling massively multiplayer online market, using its manufacturing department in Denmark to distinguish itself from competitors by offering the option to create physical manifestations of characters created in game.

Dubbed Lego Universe, the game looks to, ahem, build upon the universal appeal of previous Lego games and consolidate the experience with sizable input from the Danish companies manufacturing department. Speaking to gamesindustry.biz, the game’s development director Mark Hansen revealed, “That’s what our supply chain is geared towards. It’s about the customisation. We have the LEGO factory in Denmark so we built the whole back-supply chain first before we built the game. From 1999 until now, we’ve been developing this concept.”
