Eidos trademarks Tomb Raider Underworld

Eidos Interactive’s digital starlet Lara Croft is no stranger to caverns or criminals, and those familiar trappings may play a large part in her next adventure, if a US trademark application is any indication. As reported by Trademork, earlier this month Eidos filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a trademark on the phrase “Tomb Raider Underworld.”
The trademark specifically notes that it covers games either on discs or digitally distributed. The most recent title in the series, Tomb Raider Anniversary, was released as a retail product on multiple platforms, and on the Xbox 360 was also offered as a downloadable add-on to Tomb Raider: Legend.
